I’m Back Again!

Sorry guys, it’s been a long month.

As most would know, I’ve been to the Street Machine Summernats in Canberra. For those that don’t know, it’s the biggest modified car show in Australia with around 1300 cars and 84,000 people through the gates. It’s a pretty big deal in the Australian car scene.

So I was there looking after the Street Machine Magazine Summernats Special, which is 140pgs of all the action from summernats and it come out next week. Woohoo!

But also I was there getting some shots and video to share with guys and girls out there.

Here’s a run down of my daily video updates.

I’M BACK!

So after a short holiday break I’m back and getting ready for Summernats 24, the biggest modified car event in Australia.

I’ll be doing daily updates from Summernats to keep you all abreast of the action, and of course we’ll be uploading a whole bunch of videos over the next few months.

I’m also adding some new pictures to the photo galleries today so keep your eyes out for them.

Oh, and check out our month video to relive all the best burnouts from 2010. Happy new Year.

Springnats 2010

Yep, it’s Springnats time once again. And the perfect way to send of spring is with a whole bunch of burnouts, spins and other high octane stunts. The new location is really working for springnats although the weather was against it again with the infield show area becoming a small sea. But Shepparton Council have been doing a whole bunch of upgrades to the showgrounds, hopefully next year they’ll improve the drainage.

Here’s some video action from Springnats. There’s more coming and if you want to stay updated with the latest stuff then make sure you subscribe to my youtube channel by clicking here.

And remember there’s just over a month until Summernats.

Major Update

Well guys and girls I’ve been a bit slack of late and I haven’t been happy with the blog for a little while so I finally decided to do something about it.

this is just the start. Hopefully I can finish it off by the weekend so we can get the site back to where it used to be.

Stay tuned.

Performance Car Mania

Well, last weekend saw Performance Car Mania return to Winton Raceway and it was a tyre frying bonanza. Check out all the action in our video.

We hear terms like world’s fastest this or that alot but there’s no arguing with Larry Larson’s title of “World’s Fastest Streetcar” after he ran the first ever 6-sec pass at Hot Rod Magazine’s Drag Week.

Watch the video, thanks to 1320video.com

If you don’t know about Drag Week, it’s a fantastic concept. All entrants must drive a predetermined course of around 1000 to 1200 miles (that’s 1600 to 1920km), racing at five different tracks in five days along the way. Traffic, heavy rain, high temps – it doesn’t matter, the car has to be driven all the way with mandatory check points and everything you need (tyres, special fuel, whatever) must be brought with you. No chase cars allowed. If you break down it must be fixed wherever it stops, no towing away to workshops or whatever (can be moved if location is unsafe, but not far). And the rules are strictly enforced.

Kyle from 1320video.com has followed the whole week so check out his videos on youtube to see all the drama.

Ken Block is back!

If you haven’t seen the first two videos then go back and check them out, but Ken Block is back with more slideways action – this time in a Ford.

For those of you near southern NSW and northern Victoria remember that Performance Car Mania is on this weekend at Winton Raceway. Be there or be square!

Impressive Wheelstands

Found this little beauty on youtube. It would have been better if the footage was clearer but consumer video technology has come a long way in the past four years.

Bonneville 2010

Well Speedweek has come and gone once again, and the racers have been putting up their videos all week. Some are good, some are bad, and some are just awesome. I put this featured video in the third category.

Before we know it, it’ll be time to head to Lake Gairdner once again, and I know I’m planning to go again next year. It’s one of the trips you have to do at least once, like a pilgimage to petrolhead mecca, but be warned, once you go you’ll keep going back again and again. It’s just that kind of place.

Anyway, check out the video.

Bugatti Veyron goes 267mph!

Yesterday it was Monster Tajima doing Pikes Peak, today it’s James May from Top Gear going over 250mph in a tricked up Bugatti Veyron.

Yep, good old Captain Slow ain’t so slow after all. What I wouldn’t give to have Top Gear’s filming budget though, we could really have some fun.

By the way, because of the Spam attacks onthe blog I’ve had to resort to approving each comment individually. So feel free to comment on the blog, it’ll just take a while for them to show up.

Enjoy the show.
